Do you feel on edge? Exhausted? Tense? Let’s face it – most of us do! Urban and suburban life can wear down your innate energy, making it difficult to think, work or just make it through a difficult day. You don’t need to suffer – it is time to cleanse your soul with a bath…. A forest bath.

Forest Bathing is a simple, restorative practice to help you regain your inner strength, find your stride, get your mojo back and return to creating the life you crave.

Forest Bathing - Forest Medicine - Shinrin-Yoku

These are the names for a process that helps you connect to the natural energy that flows through all living things. It is a simple, soothing way to regain your interconnectedness with the world we live in. Heal your soul!

Forest bathing is a slow, wandering journey through nature. It is not a hike! It can be done by couch potatoes and athletes. If you can breathe – you can bathe!

Forest bathing started in the 1980s, in Japan. Since then it has been studied and found to boost the immune system; reduce stress; decrease anxiety, depression and anger; improve sleep patterns; increase energy and create a state of relaxation. Our bodies naturally respond to the quiet vibrations that exist in a forest – realigning our connections with ourselves and our surroundings.

All it takes is a few hours of quiet, electronic-free time to see, hear, smell, touch, taste and feel the tranquil, benefits offered by trees, moss, trickling streams or rushing rapids and woodland flowers.

Come experience the nurture of nature – come journey with us!

TREES (by W.S. Merwin © 2014)

I am looking at trees
they may be one of the things I will miss
most from the earth
though many of the ones I have seen
already I cannot remember
and though I seldom embrace the ones I see
and have never been able to speak
with one
I listen to them tenderly
their names have never touched them
they have stood round my sleep
and when it was forbidden to climb them
they have carried me in their branches

NATURE IS BOTH INCLUSIVE AND EXCLUSIVE!

Journey slowly, quietly through the forest and you may be lucky enough to witness the rich diversity of nature. Quiet observation of all that surrounds you will reveal small treasures, create chance inter-species encounters, or just leave you with a deep sense of awe.
Walk softly, sit quietly, breathe deeply – smell, taste, touch, listen and watch
